Word of the week by new 4M2

Word: scintillate (verb)

Definition: to emit flashes of light, to sparkle, flash

Synonyms: glimmer, shine, shimmer, glisten, gleam

Context sentence: The rising sun illuminated the river and it began to scintillate.

Many thanks to the new 4M2 for a scintillating word. Please continue to search for new exciting words that will help you to develop your vocabulary and associated literacy skills. With the new structure of the school day, you will have much less time to discuss words but I suggest that classes discuss words on the Tuesday and then decide on their chosen word on the Thursday.
Tutors please send words to me on the Thursday.
Happy word hunting!

M Roskilly
