Young

Recruitment for
this year’s new Young Ambassador has begun. This is a fantastic opportunity
for two S5’s. If you love sport, consider yourself as a role model and want
to see more young people involved in sport and physical activity then you
might be just the sort of young person we’re looking for to get involved.
Think you’ve got
what it takes? If the answer is ‘yes’, pick up an application form from the
PE Base, complete and return by this Friday 10th June.
Give it go!

Word of the week by new 4M2
Word: scintillate (verb)
Definition: to emit flashes of light, to sparkle, flash
Synonyms: glimmer, shine, shimmer, glisten, gleam
Context sentence: The rising sun illuminated the river and
it began to scintillate.
Many thanks to the new 4M2 for a scintillating word.
Please continue to search for new exciting words that will help you to
develop your vocabulary and associated literacy skills. With the new
structure of the school day, you will have much less time to discuss words
but I suggest that classes discuss words on the Tuesday and then decide on
their chosen word on the Thursday.
Tutors please send words to me on the Thursday.
Happy word hunting!
