**New Items*

 To ALL class teachers of S1, S2 and S3

4th year pupils are running a campaign to generate food donations for a local Edinburgh food bank. This food bank helps people who cannot afford to support themselves or their family. This food bank is a charitable organisation and is run solely by volunteers. This campaign is asking all pupils and teachers to help donate non-perishable food items to the food bank, these will be collected on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
 Please encourage pupils to bring in at least one item particularly canned food such as soup, tinned meat, dried pasta or rice, cereal , tinned fruit, tea and coffee, pasta/curry sauces, crisps, biscuits,. Please make all pupils aware that fresh food cannot be accepted due to health and safety for example fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and meat and fresh juice and milk. Although alternatives such as UHT milk and long life non chilled juice. Formula milk is also needed.
Also make clear to pupils and staff that items such as nappies, deodorants, shower gel, shampoo and soap are in high demand along with food so donations of these items are well received.
Crates to collect donations will be in registration classes between the 21st and 23rd to collect all items. Please strongly emphasise the importance of this cause.
 
A LIST OF ACCEPTED FOOD PRODUCTS ARE:

 Pasta, rice, biscuits, crisps, tinned fish, tinned meat, tinned fruit, cereal, chocolate, fruit juice, sugar, pasta, curry sauces, tea bags, jelly, coffee, noodles, bottled juice, UHT milk and nappies.

Lauderdale Street Site Works - Health and Safety Notice
 
From Wednesday 14th May there will be an increase in concrete deliveries during the day at ALL times. Please be aware of these lorries and act accordingly for your own and others safety. They will be entering the site from either Warrender Park Road or Lauderdale Street.
There will be site personnel guiding the lorries on and off the site
– Please do as asked by the site personnel at ALL times as it is for everyone’s safety during the construction work.

Edinburgh Schools Mountain Bike Championships
 
 
Anyone interested to take part in the inaugural Edinburgh Schools Mountain Bike Championships on Sunday 15th June, at Liberton High Schools new mountain bike track, please come and pick up a flyer with entry details from the P.E. Base at Lauderdale.
