All years	The Dloko High School Choir   The Dloko High School Choir from Umlazi Township are performing this year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! JGHS Chamber Choir will be joining them on stage for the finale and one other item.  The Chamber Choir would like to invite any pupil past or present to join them for this event with the Dloko Choir.  Rehearsals will be happening in the next few weeks.  If you would like to be involved please come to a meeting during lunchtime on Thursday.   The publicity blurb says that the choir’s performance will ‘move you to tears of sadness and joy.’ This statement is absolutely true and those staff and pupils who have been involved in the South Africa project can testify to this statement.   It has been discussed that JGHS staff and pupils can get tickets at the concession rate.  The money raised from ticket sales will fund local community projects tackling poverty through the Jabulani Charity.     Date 12-14 August 2014 Time 19:55 Duration 1 hour Venue The Assembly Rooms Commonwealth Games Event:   Any pupils who have been issued with a letter for the Commonwealth Games Event MUST attend a meeting on Monday 9th June at 4pm in the Dinning Centre (Lauderdale campus).   Mr Sievwright   Sporting Celebration – Thursday 5th June Active Schools and The P.E. Department would like to invite all pupils, parents and friends to this year’s celebration of James Gillespie’s High School Sporting Achievement.   This year’s awards will once again recognise our junior and senior girl and boy sports personalities, Team of the Year and Special Recognition Awards, in addition to presenting a host of sport specific player of the year gongs.   The event takes place at Craigmillar Park Golf Club on Thursday 5th June. Doors open at 7pm with the celebrations due to start at 7.30pm. A disco will follow the presentations from 9pm onwards.   Tickets cost £1 and must be purchased from the P.E. Base before the event.   We look forward to seeing you all there.   Mr Wallace   Lauderdale Street Site Works - Health and Safety Notice   From Wednesday 14th May there will be an increase in concrete deliveries during the day at ALL times. Please be aware of these lorries and act accordingly for your own and others safety. They will be entering the site from either Warrender Park Road or Lauderdale Street. There will be site personnel guiding the lorries on and off the site – Please do as asked by the site personnel at ALL times as it is for everyone’s safety during the construction work.     S1 – S6   Edinburgh Schools Mountain Bike Championships   Anyone interested to take part in the inaugural Edinburgh Schools Mountain Bike Championships on Sunday 15th June, at Liberton High Schools new mountain bike track, please come and pick up a flyer with entry details from the P.E.
