For S4-S6 Pupils
‘The Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival is hosting a screening of a documentary depicting the emotional struggles one young woman has had, touching on the issue of self-harm. This will take place in the Forum in the Malala building at James Gillespie's High School on Monday 26th October at 7:00pm, followed by a Q&A with the director. The screening is free but please see Mr Warden in Pupil Support to formally book a place.  This is a synopsis of the film:

Ida is a young Norwegian woman, struggling with a very turbulent emotional life caused by emotionally unstable personality disorder (borderline). For the last eight years, Ida has kept a video diary in order to ease her mind and structure her thoughts. In her diary we get a unique insight into a world of fear and anxiety, but also precious moments of everyday victories and self-discovery. Most importantly we get to witness her powerful struggle towards self-acceptance and a genuine appreciation of life.’

Debating will take place on Wednesday lunchtime in 1.31 rather than after school. Come along to learn how to argue in a more creative and constructive way in a fun environment. So what are you waiting for?
