All years	**NEW ITEM** MERCHISTON TENNIS CLUB – GIRLS MEMBERSHIP Merchiston Tennis Club wants more girls to join our club so we’re running a special 2 FOR 1 GIRLS MEMBERSHIP OFFER for girls who’re not already club members If you join together you’ll be eligible for one year’s junior membership for £25 each (normally £57.50 a year). If more new members join with you they can each receive the discounted deal. Membership means you can play at our tennis courts (book a court online up to a week in advance 9am to 10pm seven days a week) and access our club house facilities. We have weekly and holiday coaching* available, fun social tennis evenings and/or you may want to play in competitions. All ideas and conversation welcome. This term we have designed posters for WWF Earth Hour competition and talked about how pupils can fight climate change. NEW 1st Minister’s Reading Challenge It’s back! And it’s our first one for 2019.February’s challenge started on Friday … At any point during the month – including the February break - we are inviting pupils to email the school office with a photo of themselves reading at a famous landmark! If you’re going away pack your book and take a great pic. Include a bit of detail as to what you are reading and where you are and send it to admin@jamesgillespies.edin.sch.uk The photos will go on display in the library and there will be certificates and prizes at the end of the month.   Speak to Ms Brown in the library or Mrs Fairhurst in 1.25 for more details.  You will also find 1st Minister’s Reading Challenge bookshelf recommendation cards in the library to slot into any really good reads you come across this year.
