LOCKERS
Please could you inform pupils that;

Locker forms are available from the school website, the welfare office and reception. They should be returned (with cheque/cash) to the welfare office by Wednesday 5th September

- Could all pupils ensure they check their instrumental lesson times on the timetables outside B2, or to come up to the music department and speak to their instrumental teacher. LESSONS HAVE NOW STARTED.

- The African Children's Choir are visiting JGHS on the 19th/20th September.  The children will be performing a concert on Wednesday evening in the school hall and workshops for pupil on Thursday periods 1-4.  The choir require host families during their stay with us at JGHS.  If you are interested in hosting children from the choir during their stay, or would like to be involved in the interactive workshops on Thursday 20th September please come to a meeting on Thursday 23rd August in B1 during lunchtime.

JGHS offer instrumental tuition on a wide range of instruments to pupils from S1-S6.

Each instrumental teacher comes into the school every week on selected days.

Pupils come out of class to receive these lessons and the timetables are on a rota basis so as not to disrupt their learning from the same class each week.

Pupils are required to seek permission from their class teacher to attend lessons by obtaining a signature in the instrumental sheet within their planner.
This must be obtained at least three days prior to the day of their instrumental lesson although some pupils may seek signatures for lessons for the entire term.

Due to it being the beginning of term, we would ask staff to be flexible with the procedure and allow pupils out of their classes for their instrumental lessons without prior warning up until the September weekend holiday.  This will give pupils a grace period to get to grips with their instrumental timetables.
However, if pupils haven't asked for permission please remind them of the procedure so they will remember for future lessons.
