All years	AMENDMENT Guitar Ensemble/Club - Thursdays after school in B1. ROCK NIGHT - THURSDAY 6TH SEPT. Tickets are now on sale from the Queen's Hall box office or website, priced at £7.50. They will also be available from the box office on the night of the concert. This concert features bands from S2 to S6, a JGHS staff band and a former JGHS band called 'Blank Canvas' who performed at 'T in the Park' this summer. The event promises to be a great night out, son get your tickets now! ROCK NIGHT PERFORMERS URGENT - ALL performers MUST attend a meeting after school on Monday 27th August, or they will not be able to perform at this event. Edinburgh Youth Choir EYC is looking for new members to sing in a diverse, fun, non-auditioning choir for 14-24 years olds.  The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7pm -9pm.  For further information contact Miss Millar in the music department. Music Clubs and Societies All orchestras and bands will be commencing rehearsals next week (week beginning 27th) in the music department. Wind Band: Mondays after school - HALL Senior Wind Ensemble (Possibly a jazz/funk orientated group) - Mondays at lunch time - B1 Transitional String Orchestra - Tuesdays after school - B1 Senior String Orchestra - Tuesdays after school - HALL Clarsach ensemble - Tuesdays/Fridays after school - B17 Pipe Band/Chanter Group - Tuesday's after school - B1 Guitar Ensemble/Club (Playing rock and pop tunes) - Fridays after school - B3 Pupils receiving instrumental tuition in school should be attending one or more of these groups, and all newcomers are very welcome. CHOIRS: Please note All choirs will commence the week beginning 17th September. Please take a note of when the choir rehearsals are taking place: S1 Choir - Mondays Lunchtime - B2 S2/3 Choir - Tuesdays Lunchtime - B1 Senior Choir - Wednesdays after school - HALL This year James Gillespie's High School are going to the Usher Hall for the annual Christmas Concert.  Joining a band, ensemble, or choir will be beneficial for pupils who are writing their Personal Statements, and for younger pupils to enter into the spirit of JGHS.
