S1	S1 PUPILS Pupils who wish to receive instrumental lessons in school must go to the meets at lunch time in B1. Tuesday: Cello/ Chanter/ Bagpipes/ Pipe Band Drumming Wednesday: Percussion (including drum-kit) Thursday: Guitar and Double Bass (Bass Guitar) CHOIRS: Please note All choirs will commence the week beginning 17th September. Please take a note of when the choir rehearsals are taking place: S1 Choir - Mondays Lunchtime - B2 S2/3 Choir - Tuesdays Lunchtime - B1 Senior Choir - Wednesdays after school - HALL This year James Gillespie's High School are going to the Usher Hall for the annual Christmas Concert.  Joining a band, ensemble, or choir will be beneficial for pupils who are writing their Personal Statements, and for younger pupils to enter into the spirit of JGHS.

All years	ALL PUPILS All orchestras and bands are resuming rehearsals this week (week beginning 27th) in the music department. Wind Band: Mondays after school - HALL Senior Wind Ensemble (Possibly a jazz/funk orientated group) - Mondays at lunch time - B1 Transitional String Orchestra - Tuesdays after school - B1 Senior String Orchestra - Tuesdays after school - HALL Clarsach ensemble - Tuesdays/Fridays after school - B17 Pipe Band/Chanter Group - Tuesday's after school - B1 Guitar Senior Ensemble (Playing rock and pop tunes) - Thursdays after school - B3 Pupils receiving instrumental tuition in school should be attending one or more of these groups, and all newcomers are very welcome
