S1	**NEW ITEM**   Dloko High School The choir from Dloko High School, one of our South African partner schools, are coming to school today to visit classes and put on special performances of song and dance for everyone at JGHS.   The performance for S1 and S2 will be at Marchmont St Giles church during period 4. You must go to your normal class at the start of period 4 to be registered. You will then walk to the church as a class with your teacher. It is really important that you arrive promptly at your period 4 class to allow everyone to get to the church on time for the start of the performance at 12:20pm.   The performance will finish at 12:45pm. S2 have permission to go home straight form the church, but S1 must walk back to Lauderdale Street with the staff.   There is no entry charge for the performance but you will be invited to donate to a collection for the choir at the end if you wish to do so.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see the group that has been selling out at the Assembly Rooms during this year’s Fringe festival.   There is no charge for the performance but you will be invited to donate to a collection for the choir at the end if you wish to do so.

Completed forms/money must be returned to the welfare office by Friday 5th September   Laura Summers   The Spark - School Magazine   Seniors, if you are interested in being involved with the school magazine this year, or if you just want to know a bit more about it, please come to one of the following meetings:   S4-S6: Tuesday the 19th of August, after school in 1.8 (Darroch) or Thursday the 21st of August at lunchtime in 1.8 (Darroch).  If you cannot attend either of these meetings but would like to be involved, please drop in to see Ms Kirkwood in room 1.8 and let her know.     We are looking for anyone interested in writing opinion articles, current affairs, sports reports, reviews, photographers, artists and editors.
