you are 12 years or under here is an opportunity for you to seize!
We want to offer S1 pupils, 12years and under, the chance to be part
of a production of Oliver! in the Beautiful surroundings of the Edinburgh
King's Theatre from 3rd -7th March next year.Southern Light Opera are looking for boys and girls aged between 8 and 12 years for our production and we would like to invite children from in and around Edinburgh to an audition at the Festival Theatre on Saturday 13 September. Being part of full-scale production like this is a fantastic experience and our young members learn a lot about responsibility and gain so much confidence from the experience. Trip as part of the Alternative Timetable in June 2015.
If you would like more information, please collect a
letter from Miss Falconer/Miss Murphy in the PE Dept at Lauderdale or Mrs

Please note that if you wish to attend the trip, you must
pay a deposit of £50 by Friday 10th October to the PE Dept and

go to the performance of ‘Wicked’ on 10th December should bring their consent
forms, and ticket money to Music staff by Friday 12th September
at the latest.

English Premier League school trip, Saturday 22nd
November – Sunday 23rd November for £210. Pupils who sign up for
this trip will compete in a World Cup-style 5-a-side Tournament, tour The
Etihad Stadium, and see 2 Live Premier League matches: Newcastle United vs.
QPR and Hull City vs. Tottenham Hotspur. Full details of the proposed trip
can be found on the trip itinerary. If you wish to attend, please collect a
form from Mr. Carstairs. Deposits of £75 should be handed in no later than 23rd
September with only 40 places available, so be quick!

Edinburgh Secondary Schools Cross
Country League
Anyone interested in competing in the Cross Country
League this year please see Miss Falconer for an information letter.
The races will be held every Wednesday at 4.30pm til 5.15pm from 10th Sept to
Wed 8th Oct and then they will commence on Wed 25th
February 2015 to Wed 18th March 2015. The league is open to
all age groups for both girls and boys.
Bands and Orchestras
Bands and Orchestras have commenced rehearsals for the
Christmas Concert.
All pupils receiving instrumental lessons are required to
participate in one or more of the school ensembles. Pupils who learn an
instrument outside school are very welcome to join one or more of the
ensembles available.
Monday: SENIOR WIND BAND in B3 AFTER SCHOOL
Tuesday: SENIOR ORCHESTRA IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL
Wednesday: SENIOR CHOIR IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL
Thursday: PIPE BAND IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL (Check notices around the school for
specifics)
Junior Ensembles

ALL PUPILS
All pupils that have an
instrumental lesson at 8.50am MUST report to the office at the bottom of
Bruntsfield House to register they are present. Absence calls will go
home to parents if pupils do not register.
