Do you have a secret desire to be part of a Musical Production? If you are 12 years or under here is an opportunity for you to seize! We want to offer S1 pupils, 12years and under, the chance to be part of a production of Oliver! in the Beautiful surroundings of the Edinburgh King's Theatre from 3rd -7th March next year.   Southern Light Opera are looking for boys and girls aged between 8 and 12 years for our production and we would like to invite children from in and around Edinburgh to an audition at the Festival Theatre on Saturday 13 September.   Being part of full-scale production like this is a fantastic experience and our young members learn a lot about responsibility and gain so much confidence from the experience. S2	LONDON DANCE TRIP 2015   This year, the PE Department are offering the London Dance Trip as part of the Alternative Timetable in June 2015. If you would like more information, please collect a letter from Miss Falconer/Miss Murphy in the PE Dept at Lauderdale or Mrs McKean in the office at Darroch. Please note that if you wish to attend the trip, you must pay a deposit of £50 by Friday 10th October to the PE Dept and this deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Pupils who sign up for this trip will compete in a World Cup-style 5-a-side Tournament, tour The Etihad Stadium, and see 2 Live Premier League matches: Newcastle United vs. QPR and Hull City vs. Tottenham Hotspur. Full details of the proposed trip can be found on the trip itinerary. If you wish to attend, please collect a form from Mr. Carstairs. All years	**New Items** SCHOOL TRAVEL SURVEY (whole Class) This is a Scotland wide survey and MUST be completed this morning. It is straight forward – please just follow the instructions on the sheet. Remember and fill in the section for Class.    One completed – please send via willing pupil to the School Office in Brunstfield House.   Shinty Club Shinty is on Monday, after school at Thirlestane until 5pm. Everyone welcome regardless of experience. Helmets, sticks and shinguards are provided.     Edinburgh Secondary Schools Cross Country League   Anyone interested in competing in the Cross Country League this year please see Miss Falconer for an information letter.  The races will be held every Wednesday at 4.30pm til  5.15pm  from 10th Sept to Wed 8th Oct and then they will commence on Wed 25th February 2015 to Wed 18th March 2015.  The league is open to all age groups for both girls and boys.   Bands and Orchestras   Bands and Orchestras have commenced rehearsals for the Christmas Concert.   All pupils receiving instrumental lessons are required to participate in one or more of the school ensembles. Pupils who learn an instrument outside school are very welcome to join one or more of the ensembles available.   Monday: SENIOR WIND BAND in B3 AFTER SCHOOL Tuesday: SENIOR ORCHESTRA IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL Wednesday: SENIOR CHOIR IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL Thursday: PIPE BAND IN B1 AFTER SCHOOL  (Check notices around the school for specifics) Junior Ensembles   All pupils receiving instrumental lessons are required to participate in one or more of the school ensembles.
