Supported Study for National 5 Modern Studies

Supported Study for National 5 Modern Studies will take place every Wednesday from 15:45-16:45 at Darroch in Room 1.3. Each week will focus on a different exam skill/technique.

Art Folios

Individual folios submitted to the examination board in 2014 are now available for collection from the Art Department. Should you wish to take your folio away, please speak to your class teacher. The sum of £7 is payable for your folio.

World Book Day
 
To celebrate World Book Day a series of lunchtime events will be running in the library at Lauderdale from Tuesday to Thursday this week.  These are:
Design a Book Token on Tuesday (3rd March) lunchtime – a national competition to design a book-themed book token for the National Book Tokens scheme!
Folded book art on Wednesday (4th March) lunchtime and after school – learn how to make sculptures and art from recycled books!  All materials provided
Big Book Swap on Thursday (5th March) lunchtime – bring along a book from home you no longer want to swap for another book to keep and enjoy!

Definition: The dislike of, contempt for or ingrained prejudice against men or boys.
 
Context:  We should live in a world where we all are treated as having equal value—men have a responsibility to be feminists; Women have a responsibility to avoid misandry.
 
 
Get your thinking caps on for an interesting word beginning with N. Perhaps it could be something connected to spring

Football Trip
 
Manchester United vs Arsenal. Saturday 16th May. £69pp with 40 places available. The trip includes transport to and from Manchester, a 5-a-side competition, a visit to the Manchester United store and tickets to see the game. If you are interested please let Mr. Carstairs know immediately. Letters will be made available once interest has been confirmed. All pupils welcome.
 

Spring Fling!

The Annual Spring Fling Evening of Music will be held in Marchmont St. Giles on Wednesday 4th March at 7pm.
Tickets will be sold at the door on the night.  They are priced £6 and £4 concession.
 
Please support the concert and pupils performing.
 
 
Traditional Music Examination
 
All pupils who are entering a Graded Traditional Music Examination on clarsach must bring back the fee via a cheque and the return slip to Miss Millar ASAP.
 
The fees are as follows:
 
Grade 1- £23
Grade 2- £28
Grade 3- £31
Grade 4- £34
Grade 5- £37
 

Immunisation reminder
 
Forms need to be returned to the Welfare office asap – immunisation session on Wednesday 11th March
 
 
ALL PUPILS
All pupils that have an instrumental lesson at 8.50am MUST report to the office at the bottom of Bruntsfield House to register they are present.  Absence calls will go home to parents if pupils do not register.
