S1	*NEW ITEM* Gaelic Learners Club. (s1-s3)   The Gaelic learners club is open to all pupils s1 – s3 whatever their knowledge of Gaelic, so whether you want to build on the language you learned in primary or would like to learn more about one of Scotland’s native languages then come along and join the class which runs every Monday lunch time in room 2.24.   Rugby  Training   Training for S1 & 2 will be every Tuesday 4pm – 5pm at Thirlestane Road. Training will start next week (31st August). Players should bring water and a change of kit. Any questions please see Mr. Sievwright in the PE department.

The trip includes tickets to see Manchester City vs Liverpool, a 5-a-side tournament and training with Newcastle United coaches amongst other things. The cost is £215pp. If you are interested and would like a letter, please see Mr. Carstairs in the PE department. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.   DofE enrolment for South Edinburgh Open Award Group   Any JGHS students who are interested in joining a DofE group, especially those pupils who were disappointed to not get a place on the school DofE group are welcome to go to the enrolment evening for the Open Award Group that meets in the Malala building on a Tue night. Please be at the school in the Malala building at 7pm on Tue 8th Sept to enrol in this Open Award Group. Any questions please see Mr. Sievwright in the PE department.   S4 Register Teachers   Please can you ask all the Bronze DofE students from last year’s group to be at the Lauderdale St entrance of the school where the PE buses meet, next Monday at 3.50 pm for an Orienteering session.  The session will take place in the Hermitage of Braid and the students will be finished and will make their own way home at 5pm from the Hermitage.
