Word of the week from 3M2
Word: Hapaxlegomenon (noun)
Definition: a word or phrase that appears only once in a manuscript, document, or particular area of literature.
Synonyms: no know synonyms
Context sentence: Cameron enjoys using the word hapaxlegomenon in his daily language.
Thanks to all the classes that came up with some fantastic words. The word from 3M2 is perhaps not the most useful of words but it was used to good effect on University Challenge and has been chosen for its novelty value.
See if you can come up with some words that are more functional, but still interesting, for next week!
