S3 Football
Training will now take place on Tuesdays at Tynecastle High School on their 2G Astroturf. A bus will take players there at 16:00 and bring them back to school for 18:00. This will commence on the 13th January. Please ensure you have appropriate footwear. If you have any questions, please speak to Mr Carstairs in the PE Department.

Anti-Bullying Initiatives
 
There will be a short meeting at lunchtime in W8 today at lunch (Tuesday) for anyone interested in supporting our anti-bullying initiatives and to foster positive pupil relations. Please be there by 1:10.

**NEW ITEM**
 
Composition competition from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and National Trust for Scotland
 
We’re inviting young composers, aged 12-18, to write a two-minute piece of music for an instrumental trio, quartet or quintet of their choice inspired by one of five National Trust venues:
Pollok House, Glasgow; Threave Estate, Dumfries and Galloway; Culloden Battlefield, Inverness; J M Barrie’s Birthplace, Kirriemuir and Georgian House, Edinburgh.
The overall winner will be announced on Wednesday 17 June 2015 at Perth Concert Hall during a concert performance, where all five semi-finalists will have their pieces performed and recorded.

Closing date for entries is 31 May 2015.

Composing workshop
 
For 12-18 year olds with Matilda Brown - Georgian House, National Trust for Scotland, Saturday 7 March 2015: 2pm-4pm
Spend time taking inspiration from Georgian House with an NTS guide before joining composer Matilda Brown for an introductory look at writing music on a theme. Spaces on the workshop are free, but must be reserved in advance.

South Africa Trip: Football strips and Dresses
 
Do you have any football strips, shorts, shinguards or formal/party dresses that you no longer use? If so, please bring them in!  Donations can be left at W22 in Warrender, or 2.5 in Darroch, or with any of the staff involved in the trip.  Thank you.

 ALL PUPILS
All pupils that have an instrumental lesson at 8.50am MUST report to the office at the bottom of Bruntsfield House to register they are present.  Absence calls will go home to parents if pupils do not register.
