South Africa Trip – Donations needed

One of our aims for this year’s trip is to be able to provide a pair of shoes for every child at Charles Memorial Primary School.

To help us achieve this we are appealing for donations of black shoes such as gym plimsolls in sizes 8 (junior) to 7 (adult).  They don’t need to be new – used shoes that have been outgrown and are still in good condition are just as welcome!

Please hand in any donations to Miss Smith in W16.

Thank you!

ECO Group

The ECO group takes place every Monday in the library at break time- new members are very welcome.  If you are concerned about the environment, fed up with all the litter and would like to make ‘Gillespie’s Greener’ please come along and share your views and thoughts.  Let’s make a difference -The ECO group.

Ms Petersen will not be in school next Tuesday 20th January, but will teach on Monday 19th January instead.
She will teach in B13 that day.
Lessons will be during the same time and period of the Tuesday lesson.

Food Bank

Erin Waddle in S3 would like to organise a collection to donate to a local food bank.  If any student or member of staff would like to donate food, toiletries or other basics Miss Inglis will be storing items in W25 to donate to the food bank at the end of this month (donations by Jan 30th please).
People are referred to food banks as a short term, emergency measure to ensure such people have enough to meet their basic needs.
Food banks welcome:
·         Tinned foods (not baked beans or tinned tomatoes – these tend to be over supplied) e.g. pasta, fish, meat, fruit, vegetables and puddings.
·         Dried packet food that could be a complete meal made with boiling water
·         Coffee/ Tea/ UHT Milk
·         Snacks
·         Toilet roll
·         Toothpaste and tooth brushes
·         Nappies
·         Deodorant/ soap.
